The RYA Powerboat Level 2 is a two-day course that provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence. Our course focuses on low-speed close quarters handling, man overboard recovery, an introduction to driving at planing speed and collision regulations.

Many European countries require ICC (The International Certificate of Competence) to use certain categories of pleasure boats. It is also useful in countries where compulsory certificates are required of nationals simply because officials expect to see such a certificate. Therefore, you automatically qualify for your ICC on completing the RYA Powerboat Level 1 and 2 courses.

Schedule: 

Students will have access to all the content of the course on the online platform 24/7. During the course and combined with a self-study on the platform, the student will attend class sessions at Barcelona Crew Academy with our expert teacher. The course focuses on practical experience using a range of quality equipment with practical demonstrations by applying skills.

Assessment process:

Assessment Criteria is achieved through the assessment process of practical demonstrations by applying skills, supported by Assessments through written exams, discussion testing or assignment testing.

Prerequisites: 

• Be at least 18 years of age.

Certificate: 

The training provided by Barcelona Crew Academy in collaboration with maritime school includes a Diploma Certificate - MCA recognized certificate.
