STC Southern Africa’s Durban Training Centre provides maritime and offshore training from its premises on Hannah Road, close to the Port of Durban. Established in 1975, the centre has a longstanding maritime training heritage and was previously known as the Grindrod Shipping Training Academy and Unicorn Training Academy. It moved to its purpose-built Hannah Road premises in 2015. The campus offers STCW, offshore, tanker, communications, safety, rescue and other specialist maritime training programmes. Its facilities include a Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) simulator supporting offshore safety training.
